Belly dance workshop is a very popular activity and is the favorite choice for a variety of different types of events, from private events, such as a hen party, birthday or bat mitzvah, to company events, such as employee appreciation day, team building days and conferences. In addition, belly dance workshops are integrated in festivals, in trips of tourist group from Israel and abroad, as an enrichment activity for students majoring in dance as well as professional dance troupes and more.
Belly dancing workshop is a joyful colorful activity, which sweeps all the participants to join in dance to an upbeat music. A workshop can be “tailored” according to the event, its nature, the number of participants expected to take part in it, the composition of the group, the place where the event takes place, etc.
Usually, a short performance by the dancer will be combined in the workshop. If it is a surprise, as in the case of a belly dance workshop for a bachelorette party or a birthday party, the performance will take place first, and then the workshop will begin. In other cases, the performance may be at the end of the workshop.
Colorful hip scarves will put everyone in the mood and allow the participants to see and feel the movements better. During the workshop, the unique technique of belly dancing, or in its original name, Oriental dance, is learned, a technique that is different from that of western dance styles. The participants learn basic movements of belly dancing, which activate much more than the belly… The pelvis, legs, torso, shoulders, neck, hands, all these and more are activated during the dance.
There are different styles in belly dance, and sometimes in the workshop the participants will have the opportunity to experiment in dancing with accessories such as a wide scarf, a stick, sagats (zills) and more. Depending on the level of the participants and their experience in dance, the workshop can also include learning choreography, that is, combining all the movements learned into a complete dance.
