Sagit Elmaliach started dancing different dance styles at a young age. At the age of 15, she discovered belly dance (oriental dance), and from the first lesson she was mesmerized by the magic of the dance.

Over the years, she underwent further training in Israel and abroad with the great teachers of oriental dance, among others, in Egypt, the USA, France, Austria, Germany and Turkey.

Sagit holds a research master’s degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a dance instructor certificate from Wingate College.

Sagit has been dancing belly dance for over 30 years, and over the years has appeared in many dance productions, on stages throughout the country, at festivals and in various television programs. In addition, Sagit created and produced several successful original belly dance shows. She also performs throughout the country at corporate and private events, gives belly dance workshops and lectures on oriental dance, its origins and development in the Arab-Muslim society and more.

In addition, Sagit gives belly dance lessons at different levels from beginner to professional level. A number of Sagit’s students have also became professional dancers and belly dance teachers themselves!
